RECIPE: GOMASIO

Ingredients:

1 tsp Salt

15 tsps Whole sesame seeds

 

Method:

  1. Wash Sesame Seeds:

  • Rinse the sesame seeds in a strainer under running water. 2. Dry Roast Sesame Seeds:

  • In a pan, dry roast the sesame seeds over medium heat, stirring occasionally to prevent burning.

  • Continue roasting until the seeds fall off the back of a spoon. 3. Add Salt:

  • Add a pinch of salt to the sesame seeds.

  • Roast for a few more minutes, stirring constantly. 4. Grind Seeds:

  • Transfer the roasted sesame seeds to a blender or a suribachi (Japanese grinding bowl).

  • Grind until you achieve the desired consistency. 5. Usage:

  • These mineral-rich sesame seeds are great for sprinkling on top of salads and grains to enhance flavor.
